My name is David Coverdale. I'm the singer for the blues-rock band Whitesnake. My first bands were various bands when I was a teenager. My first real band was when I became the singer for hard-rock band Deep Purple. After Deep Purple I started Whitesnake, which I;ve been in since. I am 58. When I'm not on tour I live with my familt in Lake Tahoe. I was born in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, North Yorkshire, England on September 22, 1951. Whitesnake was often called a "hair-band" which I hated. I had wanted out of the whole scene by the early '90s.
"It got louder and louder, and so did I, to the point now where I have to get dressed up as a "girly man" and tease ones questionable bangs (or hair) and it's all getting a bit... boring." Whitesnake disbanded in 1990.
I had tried doing some work with Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page...however that didn't go too well. And by 1994 Whitesnake was back on the road. But our recording contract would not be renewed.
We were back together in 2002, and have been since.
I'm probably most known for my hair, which again reflects the "hair-band" title....or most know for being with Tawny Kitaen. Either way, I'm sure i have some fans here?
